runsamuck had to call me in to read this over his shoulder last week. He found it posted in a bulletin board, obviously forwarded through an email. A bit of searching turned up the original author, who is a regular writer on motorcycle riding. For some reason, in the emailed version, the beginning was edited a bit, and whoever forwarded it decided the addition of the word MUTANT and changing the word Scottish to NAZI made it funnier...but I give you the original, unedited.

Gareth has been looking forward for a month to a field trip his class (actually the entire second grade, I believe) is taking to the Cabrillo Aquarium in San Pedro, never mind that we used our passes to the one in Long Beach this weekend. He even took in an entire bag of aluminum cans yesterday (the Aquarium requests each class donate a bag or two of cans so they can keep this low cost or free). Last night, he was complaining of a headache and seems to be getting sniffly.

I hope he's not getting sick - he'll be so disappointed if he misses it.
