Mary asked if I had gotten to her steelhead pictures yet; she had asked me draw them a couple of weeks ago and, shame on me, I haven’t gotten to them yet. I knew she wanted it for a logo for the project she now works for, but I didn’t realize she had a brochure she is waiting to put them on. I promised her I would work on them tonight. It’s just that when I get home from work, between getting dinner ready, kids ready for bed, and getting some laundry so there is something clean to wear to work tomorrow, sometimes anything connected to work (even if it’s something fun like this), goes right out of my head. Even if I’ve written it down, I don’t look at my planner at home very much. Truly, I can’t even call this work; I don’t know if my boss would be happy if I were charging this to my project when it’s something for inland fish instead of marine (although a steelhead IS a sea-run rainbow trout). I’m doing this on my own time. So tonight when I would normally be online, I’m going to draw. I need to start doing that more often anyway (being active instead of passive).

Hey, he’s got a new book out - cool, I’ve got to get it for the kids. Avalon’s 1st birthday is coming up....

Here it is - beware, my first drawing in a few years:

I still need to ink it, and Mary said she would color it. I think they may be too long. Imagine them jumping into a culvert - this is for the southern California "Urban Steelhead " Project.

I'm there!

Can't eat these guys though. I think they're endangered.

Do you like to sketch or just doodle?

Excellent fish! You have skills, girl!

Now put Super Saiya-jin hair on them and the little one can be the brat Prince and the large one can be the clueless monkey.

Thanks! That means a lot coming from an actual artist! They are actually suposed to be the same size - the one behind is supposed to be farther away, but without any background it's hard to tell. Now that you mention it, though, the rear fish seems to look pissed off and thefront one looks like he has on a goofy grin.

And now that I look at this closer, there seems to have been cat hair all over my scanner.....
