I finally figured out how to use an ftp client, Photoshop's automated picture gallery maker, and a faster connection left me no excuse to finally get this posted. Although, Angus demanded reading from his dinosaur book at the same time, and in showing me a pretend "raptor egg" (actually a chicken egg), accidentally squeezed it too hard, and squished it right in my lap. Wonderful.

Despite that, the results:

My garden club's flower show, which took place at the beginning of October. Warning - may require a bit of scrolling, although if you use Full Screen on your browser maybe not as much - and I went a bit crazy taking pictures, so you may not have the patience to look at all of them. I liked the vertical layout better, but the only choice was a slideshow, which I did not like.

LOL, this reminds me very much of my little brother when we were kids. He'd dig up all sorts of bones and things from our big vege garden and come running in to tell us about the "dinosaur bones" he'd unearthed. The dinosaur obsession seems to be something that nearly every boy goes through somewhere between the ages of about 4 and 10.

And I'm impressed with your pumpkin. ;~)

Thanks, that was a first for me - I'd never grown a pumpkin before.

Angus and his brother Gareth have gotten very into dinosaurs lately. My daughter Avalon has her own stuffed dinosaur as well, but it's a furry pink and orange Triceratops.

I confess I gave it to her for Christmas. It was my way of giving in to something pink while avoiding the Barbies.

Cool! Some of the pics are quite striking, like that closeup of the sunflower. The presentation plates were a little silly, though - I would think a simple white china plate would look better than styrofoam!

Isn't the PS auto gallery a cool feature? My only suggestion is to stick with the simple view when you make a gallery. I had to scroll a lot to see each pic while in this frame view. Part of the problem is those stupid Angelfire banners eating up screen space, something you cannot get rid of without paying - and I know I surely would not pay for no banners! We have to deal with those exact same banners with the Anime Club website so I feel your pain. *laugh*

With the simple view you can have enough rows to fill the space, deal with the stupid banners and have just a little scrolling to deal with. I did this for the club last year:

I believe you can turn off the slideshow function with that one frame view by erasing the javascript code. I remember monkeying with it to make the slideshow loop around and start up again a couple of years ago.

Well, they were actually Chinette heavy paper plates, but I see your point. This was the first time we've done this in about 3years, and I don't think that occurred to anyone. Everyone provides their own green bottles, required according to the rules, which there's a thick book of, but I don't remember what it said about plates. Not everyone has plain white china - but it might be worth suggesting that the club itself by a few pieces from a discount store or something.

I guess the simple view is best, but I liked the idea of the thumbnails on the same page. I tried to make them fit as best I could but of course I forgot about the space the ads would take up. I took a lot of vertical format pictures, which also increases the scrolling.

Oh I like your club's float. Boximus Prime - snicker.

I liked the green bottles. It really added a nice touch to the show, especially with the various shapes.

Well, it does not have to be actually 'china' per say. Even that 50's plastic in white could work, and a set of that would probably be cheap at a thrift shop.

I am glad you are experimenting with that photoshop feature! It's pretty cool, isn't it?
