We went there for a weekend quite a while ago - before the kids were born. I think we got some kind of deal for the Edgewater. I'm told that's where you go for the serious gambling because there's not as many distractions. Not that I'm a big gambler - John likes the tables, but I'll stick with slots and video poker thank you. I actually won a progressive Jackpot, but unfortunately it was only $50 because I was only playing nickel machines (I take my Scots heritage to heart - I'm really cheap)in the non-smoking part of the casino.
I rather liked it - it's small, not glitzy, almost quiet. And there's the river - sort of pretty even if it is full of carp.
I'll keep the Harrah's in mind - John's been dying to play cards and maybe in a couple of years, the kids'll be old enough to not burn the house down if they spend a weekend on their own. And I'll pick up souvenirs with mine and my daughter's name on it. ;)
I accidentally won $75 playing video poker. My friend was playing so I plunked myself down and stuck five bucks in the machine and was playing while we chatted. I got a Royal Flush. But since I was only playing one quarter at a time, I got the minimum payout. My friend was more excited about it than I was.
Ended up taking my winnings and going across the river to Bullhead City and went shopping at the WalMart there.
