senoritafish: (That's Ms. señoritafish to you!)

Pencil urchin, two sponges, and "sexy shrimp"- so named for the way they sway their abdomens back & forth when walking. First time I'd seen these, although they are apparently fairly common home aquarium animals.

Pair of common goldeneyes in the salt marsh exhibit - It's spring and the male ducks were doing little displays with their heads, although this particular female seemed to want to keep her guy away from all the other ducks. Also I realized I had the camera on this rather odd, horizontally narrow, picture size.

This avocet and black-necked stilt seemed to be buddies; they walked everywhere together.

This little male ruddy duck was doing most of the displaying, vibrating his head up and down and whistling. He was half the size of the other ducks, but chasing most of them around.

And whee! Video!

Sardines and ducks from underneath... (my kids in the sound are talking about a wild night heron that was standing on the netting over the tank, peering in at the fish...but you might want to just turn the sound off)

(I won't make a habit of this, but it was just so cool my camera can do this! I don't think I realized when I bought it. I had some nicer videos, as of the ducks displaying, but my daughter was playing with my camera and deleted them).
