Crap. VT just reminded me we're interviewing someone for a sci-aide position this afternoon, and I'm wearing jeans. and beat-up clogs. When I woke up this morning the only things that registered was "It's raining," and "Angus needs a shower before he goes to school," because I never got them in the tub last night. At least I'm wearing a fairly nice sweater instead of my normal T-shirt.
It was still almost completely dark when I woke Angus up at 7:00, because it's raining so hard, and has been most of the night. He got dressed, and I tried coaxing him to eat some toast with peanut butter and drink a glass of milk. He ate a couple of bites of it. It's so frustrating trying to get him to eat. I worry about how thin he is.
When I got to work, I found it had taken both AL and VT more than an hour and a half to get here when it usually only takes them 15-20 minutes. My commute was no different, so I'm grateful for once that I don't have to get on the freeway. It just seems strange; this is normally when we are getting Santa Anas off and on, and rain comes later in the winter. There have been rumors this will be an El Niño winter. It hasn't been confirmed yet, but normally our boats are steadily landing squid by now, and they haven't shown up yet except in very small amounts.
I like El Niño years. I don't have to water my yard as much. Back to work...
