senoritafishI guess the first episode of Fututama is especially apropos considering it's New Year's Eve. The main character Fry, gets accidentally cryogenically frozen on the same date, and wakes up New Year's Eve 2999. I've seen it a million times, but I'm always noticing tiny things way after the fact.
When Fry first walks out of the cryogenics lab, he looks up at a big billboard of Angelyne.
The woman who just ran for governor, here in CA.

If you're not familiar with her, her major claim to fame is billboards all over Hollywood. She claims to be an actress, but I've only seen her doing a bit part in "Earth Girls are Easy" and she was in Moby's "We Are All Made of Stars" video, giving Moby a ride in her pink Corvette.
I guess she's so full of silicon she's now immortal.
