I've been pretty boring lately. A couple of deadlines at work, an argument with my husband, and my fairly low opinion of myself lately do not make for very interesting entries. I took my kids to Barnes and Noble a couple of days ago to pick up the book for my reading group (maybe I'll actually get it read this time), and I was reminded of something funny. Stop me if I've told this before, since I starting to forget what I've written here and what I haven't.

A while ago I was visiting the same bookselling establishment and was at the cashier, paying for some books. While writing out my check, I was chatting to the cashier about the books I was purchasing - he was also a science fiction fan, so we had something in common. I noticed that he was wearing a tie that had small monkeys all over it.

When I looked down to tear out my check, I realized I had written it out to "Barnes and Marmoset."
