senoritafishSomewhat disappointing Saturaday evening; we had planned to go to Bayou St. John in Seal Beach for dinner as we haven't been able to afford to go out even for birthdays or anniversaries (by ourselves to a nice place, anyway) for the last couple of years. With the tax return, we thought we could swing it. However, for the second week in a row, this kids are sick again - they seem to be having a relapse of the cold they had earlier. They all have runny noses and coughs. Angus is the worst - he has barely moved all dayand feels feverish. Avalon keeps trying to give me a kiss, which is sweet but a bit messy with the runny nose and she has a fit every time I try to wipe her nose. John's mom was going to take the kids, but she has as bad a case of asthma as he does and can't really afford to get sick. So we stayed home.
It's too bad really, they have the best stuffed soft-shell crabs - I really don't even know what else is on the menu. Except for alligator - that's what John always gets. Ah, well, maybe next week. We grabbed take out from Baja Fresh instead. Man, I wasn't expecting three fish tacos to be so filling - we really didn't need the nachos John got on the side. And next time I'll grab my own salsa from the salsa bar; not wanting to seem wimpy I ordered spicy instead of mild and boy, my gums are telling my about it. Not so hot as to be inedible though.
So I think I may get a glass of wine and go try to talk into watching a DVD on the lovely new TV. We can pretend we've gone to the movies....
