I woke up at 4am when my alarm went off - normally I would just shut it off and go back to sleep, but we switched sides of the bed because of John's arm hurting, and I can't reach the clock as easily now. A slight lower back pain and a stuffy nose were conspiring to keep me awake, so after lying there in the dark for an hour, I gave up and got out of bed.
So now what do I do? Windows has been bugging me to update every time I turn this this on, so I suppose I should do it. No one is likely call at this hour at least. Reminds me I also need to get a new copy of Systemworks. I suppose I should upgrade this thing eventually - I am still running Windows 98 that came with this machine, but I have heard so much stuff about how invasive XP is I have resisted it.
I emailed my friend Mike the other night. I haven't heard from him in a while. He's about the only person I still keep in touch with from high school - aside from Beth, who I've known since third grade. It's not uncommon for a year to go by between talks with Mike, yet when we do talk, it goes on for an hour or more. I haven't heard back from him yet. Maybe he has a new girlfriend and is too busy! ;) I gave him a link here, so Mike, if you're reading this, leave me a comment. Maybe we can keep in better touch this way.
I really need to do a better job of keeping in touch with people. I let people slide away far too easily.
I was toying withthe idea of going back to bed, but since Gareth just ran down the hallway screaming "I want Daddy," from a bad dream, I guess I'm up for good. Guess I'll go make some bagels and coffee.
