Heh, my father is so darn obessed with planes. First he subscribed to one of those subscription thingies that sends you a bunch of pages every couple of weeks to put in a notebook (or 5 or 6 of them - I started getting a similar thing for gardening and it just got too expensive). Gareth got a little plastic plane from the 99¢ Store and Dad had to go look it up to see what it was -- a Fairchild Merlin, as it happened, although a few minor details were different. Well, I guess toys are patterned after the real thing, but I wasn't expecting it to be in the Field Guide to Aircraft.
