Well, FAIL at the post-once-a-day-in-July thing; I got a bit distracted in the last week. o_O

I meant to keep up better on the monthly scavenger hunt. And I think these are out of order because I already posted a couple with Sackboy's photos. I am a big loser. :p

Anyhoo, we went to Anime Expo for the first time three years, as it moved from Anaheim/Long Beach, closer to where I live, up to Downtown L.A., which can be more than an hour's drive away, depending on traffic. Finally decided to take the train from Long Beach and not have to deal with parking/gas, etc. My favorite part is just watching all the cosplayers - which I'd love to do, but I'm really only fit to dress up as Kaede from Inuyasha. If you'd like to look at all of them and help me out with characters I know nothing about, you're welcome to go here for the whole set.



Goku in Funimation booth. - then asked if kids wanted photos with him. Picking Avalon up was a complete surprise (and a thrill for her).

Cosplayers of particular shows will often organize meet-ups which serve as photo shoots - here, about 6 Tophs (Avatar: The Last Airbender - animated show, NOT the movie) take on as many Dai Li agents. How's that for repetetive?

(I made Angus a Sesshomaru costume, but my machine broke before I finished it, and I think he's outgrown it now. He wore it for Halloween a couple of years ago.)

Some guy stopped and admired my DBZ baseball jersey and wonder where I got it; he was disappointed to hear it's about eight years old, because he was a huge Vegeta fan - and let me take a photo of his tattoo, because I am too.



No idea who, but he was on the local Fox News that evening.

I actually did cosplay Kaede. But the costume died in a car accident.

I'm still trying to find another character I could cosplay.

Heh, a distinct shortage of characters for those of us not in our young and thin teens and twenties (not that I was EVER thin enough to pull off most anime characters). Think I ranted about that before. But Kaede's pretty kickass; she deserves being cosplayed.

There was one older woman dressed as a Keoshi (sp?) Warrior; it looked really good on her, as if she were an older (somewhat matronly), more experienced officer. I think she's somewhere in that picture set.
