Hmm. Woke up the other morning with part of my scalp hurting and thinking my barette had been pulling my hair all night. I adjusted it but it didn't seem to make any difference.

This morning I have a bump there. I don't remember banging my head on anything. Odd. Maybe it's just a pimple - but in a weird place.

Now I can't get that episode of Monsters Inside Me out of my mind, where the guy had blowfly larvae on the back of his head. Ugh. Why do I watch that show again?

ETA - My friend Mike asks me if I've ever seen How to Get Ahead In Advertising. Ha. I had runsamuck look for me, as it's on the back corner of my head where I can't even see with a mirror very well, and it does appear to be a zit. Weird place for one. Had him douse it with iodine and hopefully that'll kill it.

Maybe it's a swollen lymph node. I got one of those on my scalp once, and was told it could just be from a scrape.

But it COULD be some kind of organism! :D

Turns out it's just a zit - which I suppose you could say is caused by organisms...just not the crawly insect kind.

It's mostly just annoying; like someone is pulling my hair, and it's kind of giving me a mild headache, but nothing I can't live with. Turns out it's a zit; geez, I'm 2 yrs. away from 50 - haven't I outgrown those by now?!

Yeah, maybe if there were a lot of livestock around here, or I'd been out in the woods recently, but neither here in suburban OC, so right, blowflies not very likely.

I'm kind of glad Animal Planet is acknowledging there are other critters in the world besides the cute and fuzzy kind with good PR, but that show is just disgusting sometimes. And I'm a biologist with a fairly strong stomach. It's one thing learning about them in class and reading about them, but some things I'd rather not see photos and video of.
