In which I am a bad parent and allowed my kids to watch a Netflix rental of Bender's Big Score. For some reason, they're not allowed to watch Family Guy yet, but I don't mind them watching Futurama. Go figure. My morals must be warped. It was interesting that one of the extras was a math professor explaining some the math that's actually been used in the show.

In return, they forced me to watch the entire 9-minute episode of Everybody Loves Hypnotoad, another extra on the DVD (btw? It's torture. Avoid if at all possible). I think Avalon was trying to prove that she did indeed love Hynotoad, by trying to hug the screen. Not the best pic for today, but the only other one seems to be Gareth about to pick his nose.

I think Futurama is way more suited for kids than Family Guy. (I mean, it's your own business what you let your own kids watch anyway but I think it's fine.) I encourage my kid to watch Futurama but then she is fourteen. I would let her watch Family Guy too but I don't watch it myself plus her dad would kill me. XD

She only watched one or two episodes of Futurama but she can still sing "Whalers on the Moon."

I still haven't seen Bender's Big Score though.

The movie is a bit bluer than the series. There's quite bit more nudity (although none of it is detailed or sexual), a couple of jokes about genitalia, and Hermes's head gets chopped off several times for the running "heads in a jar" gag. And the Chanukah Zombie (voiced by Mark Hamill), along with Robot Santa and Kwanzahbot. I suppose some people might find that offensive.

Honestly, the main difference I find between Futurama and Family Guy is sort of like the difference between flirting and leering...I wouldn't say Futurama is completely innocent, but it's mostly harmless.

Very helpful tips.
