Another facet of Murphy's Law

Why is it the toilet always decides to back up right after you've taken a dump?! GRRR! And of course it always happens just as your heading out the door to work. And right afterward you pick up the baby to say bye-bye and get a faceful of an unwelcome odor. Well to be honest, I'd be worried if I didn't smell it at least once a day, but it doesn't mean it's fun - especially right as you're going out the door.

One of Bill Cosby's routines was about that subject- with newborns it's not so bad ("ooh, look at the poopie, want to see the poopie? what a cute poopie") while the bay gurgles and coos. Then at 3 months, GOD PUTS ODOR IN THE POOPIE! The poopie is no longer cute. And we also get the incredible exploding diaper. And backed up toilets, not only from the above but because 4-yr olds think it is great fun to unwind an entire roll of TP into the commode.

No shit. Or rather, no kidding. Even though he was.

I think I will stop obsessing about poo so much once everyone is finally out of diapers. Then I'll just have to worry about the boys' aim, at least until the toilet decides to back up again.

I'd be gratified if you did. Wasn't funny at the time, but it is now. I'm a biologist and like many of them, have a weird sense of humor. We tend talk about topics polite people wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole. Our lunchtime conversation tends to clear the tables around us.
