runsamuck came in and told me "Leeanne, come out in the alley and bring your camera!" We walked quietly a couple of house down - he pointed to this white thing in a tree in the neighbor's backyard. It suddenly reared up and gave a shriek! Turns out the other neighbors cockatoo has escaped and found this little tree quite comfortable. I thought he was lost, and went home to get some snacks for him, but when we returned his owner had a ladder and was trying to attract him down. Might have been one of these guys, a Moluccan cockatoo.

We heard him again a couple of days later, and there he was in the same tree again. I'm pretty sure he doesn't live at that house, because a little old lady lives there, and to my knowledge, she's never had any pets.
