Saturday morning rambling......

senoritafishFlipping around Saturday morning to find stuff for the kids to watch. They want to eat candy. Maybe if I let them eat all of it, they'll get sick of it and never want any more, but I suppose that wouldn't be very responisible parenting, would it? I'm tired and not awake yet - not only was I exhausted before I went to bed last night, but both Gareth and Avalon woke up at 2:30 and would not go back to sleep for at least an hour. Gareth said there were plants getting into his bed. He was not convinced that "roots" kind of precluded that notion.
Good god, there is a new remake of Ultra-Man. My brother used to watch the old one when we were kids, something I still tease him about to this day. I don't mind the Japanese cartoons, but they're live-action shows are still pretty dorky. Like we produce only quality TV! *snort*
My father is reading Teddy Roosevelt's "A Book Lover's Holiday in the Open" and asked me to read a passage that was confusing him. The main thing that strikes me is that Roosevelt keeps talking about Piltdown man being link between "beasts and man." Piltdown Man later turned out to have been a hoax, but I think that happened after he died, though.
I was thinking about taking the kids to Bolsa Chica to look for some birdwatching, but my arms are still tired from lugging Avalon around on Halloween. I don't think she's quite up to walking a mile or so yet, given that she still unintentionally plops on her butt every 20 steps or so.
'Spose I should start doing some housework - this place is a vile disgusting pit.
