They are nice! I have sone ones that go round the back of your head like that, but I find them awkward with my glasses. I just bought some pretty good earbud types instead.
I actually prefer this configuration, but you're right, they do kind of interfere with glasses (which I also wear). Ear buds are convenient, but I guess my ears are outside the norm - they will not stay in unless I'm holding perfectly still. Not only that, but anytime sound is going directly into my ear canal, it makes my eardrums hurt after about half an hour. For some reason, headphones on the outside of my ears don't do that.
I have a pair of (cheap) noise-reducing ones, but the little box holding the battery and controls for the noise reduction is half-way down the wire, and it's always falling out of my pocket or otherwise coming loose - pretty clunky. They don't reduce all that much noise either.
