I still haven't figured out exactly what this place is. It's in a neighborhood strip mall just up the street from my office.



Ostensibly a martial arts place, but when I asked another occupant what they did there, she said there was never anyone in there and when she'd tried to talk to the owner once, he'd yelled at her that "he was trying to run a business and didn't have time to just be talking to her!" She thought he slept there.



The signs in the corners of the windows say "Leykis 101" - as in Tom Leykis, I'm assuming.

Apparently, either he's been kicked out or has changed his marketing. Just drove by at lunch, and the sign now says only "Martial Arts." Haven't been by the doorway, but from a distance, the lettering there is different too.

Believe me, I stay as far away from Tom Leykis fans as I can.

If this guy is a serious follower of Tom Leykis, he's an asshole. Leykis is one of those misogynistic radio talk show people who has a national show here, under the guise of just being comedy or "entertainment." He's one of those guys I can't listen to for more than two minutes or I'll burst a blood vessel. Some people may listen and say, "Aw c'mon, it's just for fun.." but too many others take it seriously.

Did you check out the 101 link? Serious recipe for unloved, lonely, bitter, old men, which Leykis already is.
