The kids have this little Cookie Monster toy saxophone - from some angles it looks like a fat pipe. It has six buttons, three round ones on the top, and three more down the side shaped liked stars. The round ones play a short segment of music, and the round ones play an entire song; a jazzy version of London Bridge, Rock Around the Clock, and another one I don't recognize. There is also a knob which makes it play the song faster or slower - if you turn it in the middle of the song it sounds as if the band has taken drugs or something. This was a gift from Grandma, and normally would be one of those John finds a way to "accidentally" break or at least take the batteries out of. (Funny how grandparents give you all the noisy things that will drive you crazy).

However, Avalon has discovered the saxophone. She'll bring over to you, hold it up so you can press a button, then start swaying back and forth to the tune. Just so damn cute, I bust out laughing every time. Especially when she grins with all six teeth (four on the top and two on the bottom) and crinkles her nose up.

Christopher has the Ernie piano that is basically the same deal. Except at the beginning of every song, it says "rock the house" in this stupid irritating voice. It drives me nuts. However Christopher thinks it is the funniest thing he has ever heard and will push the button over and over and then laugh his head off

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention before every song, it says "Ha cha cha!" and when it's done, it says "Play it again!" I think it's supposed to be Cookie Monster, but it sounds sort of like Louis Armstrong.
