The state biologist exam is being offered. It's been over six years, I believe, and it's about time.

Feel free to pass this along or post it somewhere if you know biology people who might be even vaguely interested in working for the State of California. When positions open up, you must have already passed the test and been placed on a list in order to qualify for interviews. They're not offered very often so it's a good idea to test even if there aren't any openings yet.

The following examinations are being offered:

BIOLOGIST (BOTANY)
BIOLOGIST (MARINE/FISHERIES)
BIOLOGIST (WILDLIFE)
OPEN STATEWIDE
FINAL FILING DATE: April 21, 2006
If you meet the qualifications for these exams, we encourage you to apply. You can find the bulletins on our DFG website at www.dfg.ca.gov/hrb/pages/currentdfgexams.html. The bulletin also provides a detailed description of the qualifications needed.

To apply for this exam, you must submit a Standard State Application (Form 678) by the final filing date of April 21, 2006. Address any questions regarding these exams to the Human Resources Branch at (916) 653-8120.

This e-mail is a courtesy, and non-receipt of this message is not sufficient justification to extend the filing period for an applicant. If there is an exam that you are looking forward to, make sure to frequently check our website.
