Sunday morning doodle...

I never know what's going to come out when I do these things. Not a fish this time. I usually draw kind of cartoony eyes, but lately I've developed this thing for golden ones. Just not quite human. ;)

I succumbed and opened an account at DeviantArt.com. For a long time the quality of stuff on the main page intimidated me, but there actually are other amateurs there, so I decided to jump in. Amazingly, that place is more of a timesuck than here. So many pretties to look at. I started an account for John's woodworking stuff, too. Funny, his things stay on the front woodworking page, for quite a while, just because there are so many less woodworking submissions than drawings and paintings.

Anyone else have an account there so I can friend you?

I don't post any artwork there. I am mostly there to yell at art thieves and watch the Gravi images at a few communities to make sure people are not stealing art.

I like your critter! It is nice to see you doing artwork! Hope you are able to find more time to pursue it as the chibis get older.

I was a little nervous about posting that - I know I've seen at least one oekaki board with rules saying "Don't post just eyes." Which I usually wouldn't but that's what happened.

I'm trying to make myself do something at least once a week. I sketched one of the cats (again) last week, but haven't scanned it yet.

I'm so jealous of people with talent for drawing. My photography stuff is pretty amateurish, but putting it up on DA seems to give me more incentive to improve - mostly because I browse through such great stuff there.
