Well, the little white shark at the Monterey Bay Aquarium was released last week. She was a hundred pounds larger and she had chomped on a couple of soupfin sharks sharing her tank, and killed them. This was thought to be territorial behavior, however more recently she had been exhibiting hunting behavior on other tank residents (I guess the salmon fillets were no longer filling her up), so it was time to let her go. I'm sorry I never got to see her in person.

I'm hoping she's doing okay. So I did an oekaki of her - I think I got the proportions all off and her tail is not lunate enough, but oh well.

Docks today - my goodness, the seagulls were aiming for me. Every five minutes there was a splat on the pavement a foot or less from me, and they did get my pant leg, my boot, and my sample bag. Yech. The dealer had a high pressure hose so I was able to get most of the crap off before I went back to the office.

Well, thank you! Yes I did. [livejournal.com profile] bakayaro_onna intoduced me to oekaki boards (http://www.swordbreaker.com/oekaki/) a while ago, bulletin boards with little drawing apps. This is only the second time I've been brave enough to actually post something at one.

I've only drawn fish so far, I'm not much good at people.

I hope you continue to visit the site and draw! The owner is a friend of mine - she was an officer of the Anime Club last year.

Yes, we have a framed poster of sharks on the wall at work, and as I walked by it on the way to the restroom, I realized I had forgotten a pair of fins, her gills were in the wrong place and the coloring was way off.

Except I didn't realize when you save it, it smooshes the layers into one, so I kind of messed up the background trying to fix her tail.

You still have two layers when you go in to edit the pic, but the bad news is the two layers you used before are now the bg layer. I have drawn on the fg layer to make some changes when I screw up a pic.

That's a cool picture. I like the textured look of the background. :~)

Thank you! I just used the spray can at a lower density, and picked several different colors over the top of each other.

Are you familiar with oekaki boards? (http://www.swordbreaker.com/oekaki/) I'm sure you'd be great at them.
