Yesterday, we got surveys in our mailboxes, asking us to update the list on who was bilingual or multi-lingual in our Department. PH elbowed me and grinned - "Now's your chance."

I blinked at him. "Chance for what?"

"You can tell them you speak Klingon!"

Ha, ha. While I was a pretty hardcore Trekker at one time, I was never that hardcore. It's hard enough learning an existing language, let alone an artificial one. And I doubt we get that many Klingons coming up to the licensing counter. ;p

Klingons are my favorite race. Would you believe David bought me a Klingon dictionary for my birthday a few years ago? You never know when you're going to have to look up a word.

That reminds me too - did you ever see the "Frasier" episode where he gave his son's bar mitzvah (http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/GuidePageServlet/showid-70/epid-205037/) and gives the speech in Klingon? I don't think I've laughed harder!

Man, I can't believe I never replied to this. Just going back and adding tags to things and finding things I forgot. I hope you have email replies turned on. I wish I'd seen that episode; maybe I can catch it in the reruns.

I'd have to say my favorite aliens are Vulcans, or maybe mixed species in general. They're just so conflicted and angsty; makes for very interesting characters. But I think Spock is the first male I ever had a crush on.
