Poodles : fussy, over bred, high maintenance dogs with silly haircuts.

I've always considered roses the poodles of the plant world, and goldfish the poodles of the fish world.. However, this does not mean I don't like a few of any of these on an individual basis.

Can you think of any more "poodles?"

goldfish are high-maintenance? i've never had any fish, and you're certainly the fish expert, so i don't doubt you, but i always thought the reason goldfish were so popular was that they were pretty hardy.

I guess I'm thinking of the fancy goldfish with the bubble, or pop-up eyes and extra long fins and tails.

But you're right, it's hard to kill the plain ones.
