Call with a recorded message or try to sell me something and you will find yourself listening to a disconnect tone faster than you can say "Carpet Cleaning," but tell me you have some questions to ask me about toothpaste and I'm yours for as long as it takes.
I got a call this evening from someone who wanted to talk to someone about TV viewing (which I do far too much of), between 20 and 54 (me again,or John), with the most recent birthday. Hey, that would be John, dammit. But he's not here, I said. I am - ready and willing to answer any and all queries. "No, we'd like to talk to your husband, we'll call back: when's he available?" I told them and hung up.
After thinking about it for a bit, I realized that, since John's birthday is only a week after mine, I have only a week out the entire year that I would even be eligible for the damn thing.
HIghly unfair, I calls it.
