Meaningless entry....
Sep. 21st, 2002 11:27 pmNew episodes of DBZ this week - yay! But now Vegeta's dead again, so how long until he comes back? (Being dead doesn't really mean very much in this series.)
I had been watching some of these on International Channel back when we still had cable; still in Japanese, but at least unedited - it was kind of fun. John thought I was nuts, watching something in a language I couldn't speak, with no subtitles. Then we switched to cable, and we didn't have that channel anymore - I miss it. They also showed "Slayers" and "Irresponsible Captain Tylor"; those were pretty good too - very funny. Some day, I'll be able to afford DVDs of all of this crap - ha, after the kids leave home! Until then, there's always NetFlix.

After Lord of the Rings came out, V. and T. were debating about how good it was. T. was a big fan of the books from way back, as many of us are, and was disappointed in the whole thing. They left too much out and didn't follow the story exactly. V., having read the books only recently, countered with how can you expect a movie with a limited amount of time to cover everything in the book? And of course the director is always going to take some interpretive license, that's a given. But T., purist that he is, would not budge, even though he is planning to give the next movie a chance to impress him.
Having seen exactly two movies in the theater since Angus was born, here's ( my take on the whole thing..... )
