senoritafishMy brother Dave recently told me that he was getting laid off again, and when he does, he and Mardie are going to move back to Ohio and stay with one of her brothers' family. Mardie has been out of work except for short term things for over a year now, I think. Dave thinks the job market back there is better in his field, and housing is certainly cheaper, so hopefully they'll be able to get on their feet.
But damn. We've never been able to go visit them up there in Portland, and now we don't have the chance. I was hoping that now that I'm on the Coastal Pelagic Species Management Team, there would be a meeting up there (since that's where the Pacific Fishery Management Council is based) and I could visit then.
He got the notice Tuesday and yesterday was his last day. Sounds like they'll be moving within a couple of weeks.
