Friday: End of pay period, but direct deposit did not go through - broke for the weekend
Monday: Direct deposit goes through, but John has no time to do banking because of my father's dental appointment, picking Angus up from school, and his own dental appointment to finish his root canal - broke for the day
Tuesday: We're out of coffee, so I go get a few bucks out of the ATM to buy some. John goes to the bank, gets enough cash to pay my dad back rent (because we were short last month) and pay the dentist for yesterday - broke until June.

I'm getting tired of this.

------------

We fought this morning because I was looking for the sheet of for "Teacher Appreciation Week" in which the teacher is supposed to get a different themed thing from her students each day (other parents came up with this). I misplaced the paper, partly because I thought it was next week. No, it wasn't - and everyone brought her a flower from their yard yesterday, except Angus. So while I was searching, I was muttering (John says I yelled - I don't think I did) that Angus will be getting a bad rap because his mother is lame. I'm pretty ambivalent about giving this woman stuff anyway. Anyway, John, not feeling well because his allergies are acting up, took it personally and thought I was blaming him for not cleaning up, which really was the farthest thing from my mind. So we went back and forth, I cried, he relented, and said he would take care of it. I snipped a bloom from my only rosebush for Angus to take - late, and John called me later and said they got a cookie for her today. Another mom is going to give him a copy of the list.

------------

I used to be the only person in my section to stay later than 4:30. Now MH sits in the previously-empty cube right over the wall from me and stays as late as I do - and I can no longer fart with impunity after 4:30 pm!

I forgot the first day she was there. Oops.

------------

I forgot to mention I also misplaced my keys (or someone misplaced them for me), and I forgot my wallet that has my building key in it.

Ugh. If some parents did that for me as a teacher, I'd be rather annoyed. If I'm going to get a gift, I would rather it was totally random - like a picture of a horse that one of my students drew and gave me, or a letter, or a story, or the sticker that was on the back of a students hand before they gave it to me.

Those are presents of love and should only be given to teachers who deserve them
