Being clueless again...

John has been sick the last few days. He was just watching Ice Age. At the part where the animals are taking the "shortcut" through the ice cave, and pass all the animals frozen in the ice (there's a little evolutionary progression there), he noticed that when Manny the mastodon carries the baby past a frozen UFO, the baby makes a little Vulcan greeting sign.

This movie is one of my kids' favorites. They must watch it once or twice a week, and I'd never noticed.

The movie DOES have a few clever moments, but not enough for us to own the thing...

We only own it because my dad broughtit home for the kids; I ususally just throw it it to amuse them while I'm doing something else. However, both of us grown-ups always get a little misty at the end, if we allow ourselves to watch it.

And Manny seems to have a lot of unexpressed angst...

dasan watches that movie all the time as well and i've never noticed that...

i'll have to look for it :)
