I'm trying to think really positive thoughts for Beth right now, I believe her surgery is today. When I tried calling her last night, her friend Mary was taking her her to the hospital - she sounded like she was in a lot of pain and I know she's frightened. I guess her surgery is today, but I don't know exactly when. I will try calling the hospital later. Hopefully, I can take off early sometime this week to go visit her - Redlands is an hour and half away from me.

Avalon has been croupy the last couple of days. The last two nights I got up, turned the hot water on in the shower and sat in the steamy bathroom with her to ease that barking cough. Angus had had this as a baby so bad that he needed to go to the emergency room, but she was able to go back to sleep and the coughing wasn't incessant, only occasional. She was still hoarse during the day, but seemed to feel all right; very clingy though. John just called and said she seemed to have gagged on some phlegm she was coughing up and barfed all over our comforter. Oh well, it needed to go to the laundomat anyway - it's too big for our washing machine. Poor baby - if she get up tonight, she's going to the doctor tomorrow.

if shes at RCC hosp i can get uptodate minutes for you...and tell the nurses to be extra special nice to her. if shes at LLUMC then i ask you to bring her a coke. with caffiene.

i will light a candle for her.

and if you do head up this way please let me know i'd love to get together for a cawfeechat or something.

Thank you - That would be wonderful - she is at Redlands Community under the name Mary E. Fairbanks. I just checked out their website and got their phone, but not sure I can phone from work.

I hope this goes ok for her.

I'll try to let you know if/when I come out there.
