Inflamed Vicar no. 33 (Fiery Mix)
Nov. 20th, 2003 11:00 pmThose of you who are moms probably remember Steve Burns as the human sidekick on Blue's Clues. I got quite used to his green striped rugby shirt, and I actually got a little misty the day the episode aired when he went off to college and was replaced by his brother Joe. I imagined him going to frat parties, getting drunk, fantasizing about emotionally unavailable professors and generally doing all the stupid stuff I did when I went to college.
Well in real life, he recorded some tunes, went on tour with the Flaming Lips, and is now doing all kinds of interviews promoting his new CD, Songs for Dustmites. Abercrombie and Fitch has one of his songs available for download (under the Lifestyles page), and I was kind of suprised to find I actually quite like it. The distorted bass electronic fuzz near the beginning bothered me to begin with, but now it's really grown on me (btw, the Jen Foster song on the same page - Used Black Cars - is really good, too).
On his own amusing webpage, he has a little song title generator, which he claims they used fo come up the the titles on his album. Some of my favorites that came up were:
Following the Wondering Iguana
Music for Geiger Counter
Several Species of Supernova Gathered Together in a Dirty Bear and Grooving with a Goat
Song for Samarium and Justine Bateman
