Nov. 13th, 2003 04:44 pmSilly sycamore trees. The ones planted around our building have been dropping leaves for a couple of months now. However, the one I can see right now, by raising my eyes from my monitor and over my cubicle wall, it sprouting new green leaves here and there on its branches.
I don't think sycamores really like it here by the coast, where the nights don't get really cold in winter. The temperature never gets cool enough for them to really get those autumn colors, and their leaves just turn brown from the edges and fall off. They always look kind of sickly and stunted, especially the ones in the parking lot. I think the asphalt must smother their roots.

Date: 2003-11-14 04:42 pm (UTC)when i was 15 or so i got on this kick of fixing a pack of instant pudding every night and eating it while i did my homework. usually the amount of sugar consumed was enough to make me get quite silly, and i'd come up with crazy rhymes and silly songs to help me remember what i was supposed to be studying. . . even though usually my babblings didn't stay on topic ;)
if my brother was around, he'd write down the more clever things i said, and we called this artwork "pud." when i went to a new school, i adopted this as my nickname. aaron started calling me "puddinhed", i think.
an example of some pud from the top of my head:
bond formation,
great aggravation!
delocalization
and ionization!
(apparently that was a chemistry study night :)
