senoritafish: (Grrrrr!)

Yesterday I got an email from move-on.org, titled Schwarzeneggar's abuse of women, which made me raise an eyebrow as, while this organization is pretty left wing, it's not ususally given to mudslinging. However, reading farther in the email, I see this was an article in the L.A, Times, not some scandal sheet, and when I open my browser the first headline that jumps out at me is "Schwarzeneggar regrets 'behaving badly' in the past." These incidents are fairly recent as well.

There are no women on his staff.

"You don't get it," says a producer who's worked with Schwarzenegger. "That's the way Arnold always behaves. For some reason, [this time] the studio or the publicists couldn't put enough pressure on the women to kill the story."

I wasn't planning to vote for this guy anyway, because I believe this recall is a big goddamn waste of money that the state doesn't have in the first place, and in most other states, governors have to have done something criminal before you can recall them. It has to be more than you just don't like the guy (and admittedly, Davis has shown himself to be not very likable). However there a few things Schwarzeneggar said that I respected. When he was pushing his after school programs initiative, he said "I used to think that everyone could pull themselves up by their bootstraps, but I came to realize that not everyone has boots."

I suppose Schwarzeneggar gets some political credit for admitting it happened, but at least with Clinton, Monica was willing. These women weren't and some did not press charges because they were afraid of losing their jobs. You know if he had been a Democrat, he'd be being crucified right now.

Great. And this guy could very well get elected and become my boss. Just freakin' fantastic.

I think I'm now going to go print out those "Suddenly I now ♥ Gray Davis" just to piss off the neighbors.
