Yeah, the tutu and gold bra is just what I want to wear to the beach...
Angus was really antsy, so we decided to go for a walk, just the two of us. It's nice to get in some one on one time and no one else wanted to anyway. So we drove a little way down Main St., parked near the Art Center and walked the rest of the way down to the pier and back. The shop windows are always fun to look in. It was relatively quiet down there; during the summer, the sidewalks will be jammed even in the evening.

Angus wonders why there are so many skeleton-themed items in the souvenir shop. And he's holding my coffee.

Full moon tonight. The grunion are probably running.

Back towards where we parked - grrr. Someone has tagged all over the mural near the Art Center (it used to look like this). Now I don't mind grafitti in most cases, when it's not defacing someone else's property or art. A few years ago, there used to be a bunch of blank retaining walls down by the beach - people were allowed to draw and tag on them as much as they wanted, but it was understood that it would be occasionally painted over and renewed - new blank pages, as it were. I loved them; there were a few ugly tags, true, but there was also a lot creative stuff by talented people. Then the police decided, oh no, that's drawing a gang influence, and had the walls all painted an ugly tan. No one is allowed to paint on them any more. If that outlet still existed, just a few blocks away, I wonder if this would have happened?
