Just got an email from a student who interned with us for a couple of weeks several years ago, when he was just starting at a community college. He's now at CSULB and a year away from graduating. VT had done a career-day talk there last week and he mentioned working with us, although VT didn't remember him - apparently he was inspired when I showed him how to read mackerel otoliths and is now doing an independent study project involving fish otoliths. I wrote him back and told him to keep us in mind when he graduates (unless he's planning on going to grad school), although I don't know what the Department's budget will be like then. Nice to be remembered fondly.
