I was debating whether to stay home today because John was having a pretty hard time breathing this morning, and thought he might have to go to the doctor; his lungs seem to be producing an inordinate amount of mucus the last couple of days, and he feels like he's constantly in danger of getting a mucus plug. He woke me up coughing last night and I had to pound on his back for awhile to loosen stuff up. However, he tried a Singulair tablet, and it seems to have helped a lot - he called to tell me he's ok and I shouldn't have to come home early.

He also called to tell me that Gareth's attitude about his sister appear to be changing. He had previously been exhibiting a lot of jealousy, and saying "I hate you!" - I had given him several talks on how that word has no place in our house. Today, John was tickling Avalon, and Gareth was feeling protective, I guess, told him to leave her alone, and accidentally managed to belt John in a very sensitive spot - enough to bring him to his knees. Then everyone was very concerned about Daddy - "Are you ok?" (*squeaks* "Yes - Daddy will be - he just can't talk right now!")

I keep telling him; if he's gonna start wrestling around on the bed with them, he should probably wear a cup.

I think it's infinitely amusing. I feel for John. My neice used to greet me by running up with her arms outstretched. Only...she was the height of my crotch. So I'd regularly lose the ability to stand. I'm glad she's grown a bit now.
