Calendars...

Susan Seddon Boulet's Unicorns - I always loved this artist. I was sad to note when I purchased this calendar that she passed away in 1997. No writing on this one - mainly because it's posted behind my computer and I can't reach it easily.
Office of State Publishing Calendar - The one I use to make up our work schedules, it shows state holidays and our pay period start/end dates. Normally this is just plain white paper, but this year it has paintings by Van Gogh, Cezanne, and Gaugin, plus what looks like modern artists who have a similar style. When ir came out, we wondered how they could afford to make such a nice calendar when the state is in such a budget crisis - we heard that because it also contains advertising, it cost less than the normal ones. However, I notice that most of the ads (except for a company called accenture.com) are from other state agencies, so how does that work? I consult it fairly often, but it's usually in a drawer - I have no wall space to hang it up.
I have no desk calendar, but VT is always showing me hers - "My cats are cuter than these! Why didn't mine get on the calendar?" (Apparently, she sent some in last year).
Franklin Planner: The one I carry around with me, and am supposed to write in what I did every day. Haven't been very good about that lately. I have the Shoebox version, so at least I get a laugh every day.
Home:
Bedroom: Cowboy Bebop (of course). Not as many pictures - there's only one page of art for every two months. On the bright side, I've gotten to look at Jet since the beginning of March. This was a Christmas present from John.
Our Bathroom: In previous years, I've had print-outs of Bchan's sexy DBZ calendars in here, but she didn't do one this year, so we have one of tropical vacation spots that we aren't likely to get to in the forseeable future. Lovely pic of Bora Boa from the air for April. I think it's from an insurance company.
Kid's Bedroom: Highlights magazine Hidden Pictures Calendar, which came free with their suscription. We had fun putting stickers on all the holidays. I was thinking of scanning the cover pic of a a penguin dad and kid, clad in winter clothes, walking through a forest, as an icon for John. He likes peguins.
Dad's bathroom: Dad sends $10 bucks to just about every charity that sends him something. He has a US Olympic Team calendar in his bathroom, because they recently changed the rules and he can't donate just to the shooting team. All donations go to entire Olympic team. Something which bugs his NRA sensibilities. A local real estate office puts out a calendar of historical Huntington Beach photos - that's hanging in there as well. Don't ask me why he needs two calndars in the bathroom.
Kitchen: Poor Richard's Almanac calendar - a drawing of the plant 'o the month and all kinds of gardening tips. It would be very helpful if I got out in the yard more often than I do.
Angus's kindergarten class does a calendar page every month, with a construction paper collage representing some holiday or seasonal symbol, and the numbers in dotted lines that they are supposed to trace over to practice writing. It's usually held on the fridge with magnets.
Dad usually has one in the den, too. Last year it was pictures of memorials for cops killed on duty. How depressing.
And still I manage to forget what day of the week it is, quite regularly.
