senoritafish...an email asking for volunteers for a squid ROV/hydroacoustic research cruise, assisting a researcher from Woods Hole, Feb 21-Mar. 2. I'm going to beg my supervisor and mandate coordinator - I would love to get out on a boat for a few days. Up at the Channel Islands, too! They want a 3-5 day commitment and would like someone to be there the entire time.
I'm going to put in a good words for DP too; she's been working with us for a long time, and would probably love the opportunity. I got to go on several cruises as a sci aide.
It seems like they should have asked us first about volunteering anyway. We are the Coastal Pelagic Species Unit after all, and VT is the squid biologist.
