Just had a nice cake and good-bye gifts for P., who's transferring to Sacramento. I took some pictures and she kept bursting into tears. I kept trying to get a shot of her hugging everyone, but either someone would walk in front of her, or that darn delay digital cameras have made me miss it. I tried the quick shot mode, but that made it unable to zoom. Grr. But anyway, we'll miss her

M. is leaving early and D. is off today, so it looks like I'll have to process squid samples this afternoon. Good, keeps me in practice of what a squid's innards (male vs. female) look like. And I will not wash the statoliths down the drain this time when I'm done, like I did last time.

Time to go read some mackerel otoliths before I forget how, too.
