Oct. 14th, 2002 06:18 pmWell, now I am bummed. The down side of parenting, I suppose. My brother gave us Dismalland passes last October and they will be expiring this Friday - we live about a half and hour's drive away. I had wanted to go today to see the Haunted Mansion, which they've redone (again) as "NIghtmare before Christmas." I told Angus and Gareth that we would go when they got up from their nap. They went in their room, but there was much jumping up and down and banging and thumping, and running out in the hallway. After several times of telling them to get back in bed, I finally theatened, "If you get up one more time, we will not go!" So they went and lay down again, for about 5 seconds, and were out in the living room again.
So I have to make good the threat, and we are not going. They were unhappy, but seemed to get over it quickly. The thing is I was the one who really wanted to go. So who's really getting the consequences here?
