I just looked out the front window and thought the clouds looked a bit more reddish-orange than they would be from the setting sun. When I logged on, sure enough there was a news article about a fire in the Angeles National Forest. I'ts a wonder John has been able to breathe today. Usually wildfires play hell with his asthma; it seems like it's been getting worse and worse.

Angus has become quite the little nudist; every time I turn around he has taken his pants off, ostensibly to go the bathroom - but then he won't put them back on unless I get after him. Earlier I looked out the patio door and saw he had put his pants on; they were not only inside out but also backwards, and he had a serious case of plumber's butt. At least he's doing it by himself.

Avalon now has 2 teeth; has been hitching herself along by her elbows for a couple of weeks (instead of rolling), and yesterday actually got her knees under her.

Gareth told John he wanted to talk to Uncle Doug, so we dialed the phone and, as usual, got his voice mail. So we left a message. "Hi Uncle Doug," and "I love you." He's never left a message before, so he needed a little prompting. He's so loving, though;always the one to be climbing in your lap, giving you kiss, and saying, "I love you, mama." sometimes I feel I don't deserve it.

Dad has gone to the grocery store twice today. Funny, when he complained he spent too much at Smart & Final yesterday.

edited: John was wheezy; he said he just didn't tell me because I overreact.
