Mar. 5th, 2002 05:34 pmTomrrow, my computer at work is being converted to Windows 2000 and Office XP from Wordperfect Office. So our director hath decreed, so shall we become yet another cog in Bill Gates empire. I have used dBASE for almost 10 years, and can actually do some programming in it. While I know Access is more intuitive to use and will do the same things, I am frustrated because I haven't been able to bend it to my will yet. We have a bunch of dBASE programs that need to be converted and an independent Access programmer wants $2000 to do it.
Our own IT person says he can do it, but will not have time until this whole conversion thing is over with - another year down the line. I'd like to try it myself but I don't know Access well enough. Grrr. I'm sure I'm one of those users IT people hate - I know enough to get myself into trouble.
