Angusim for Sunday morning, as a cold, windy storm moved through:

"It's raining outside quite vigorously!"

Yes, he actually used the word vigorously. I've heard a few academics talk like that, but not usually fifth graders.

You should come to my class - they crack me up with the words they use.

Last year one of my seventh graders waited for two days to say 'archive your paraphernalia' to me (she wanted to say it in context)

Heh, I figured he must have heard or read it somewhere else. He does have a pretty good vocabulary though, he just needs a little more work on spelling it.

Actually, now that I think about it, one of his favorite cartoon characters would use a sentence like this. ;)
