Mar. 13th, 2009 04:24 pmParked the car yesterday as I was dropping the kids off at school; I had just stepped out when Gareth yelled, "Mom, there's a bee right next to you!" I saw movement out of the corner of my eye and tried to duck away from it, but just as I did, I felt something like a pinch, and dammit, if she hadn't stung me. I managed to scrape the stinger out, but it still hurt. One of the other moms told me "Put a penny on it!" - however, I took some antihistmines when I got home and darned if it didn't stop hurting completely. Why haven't I done that before?
Now it itches; I'm just glad it wasn't Avalon, although she mentioned being worried the bees were going to come after her, too. The only reason I can think of why she stung me, was she must have already been on me when I ducked and I pinched her. I've never had a bee just randomly sting me, unless I hurt them somehow first.
