Oh no, the Irvine fire is 15-miles to the east of us, and it's pretty much all city between here and there; however all the smoke is coming directly over us. I do have friends and coworkers who live much closer though. One of our sci-aides showed me pictures of flames he could see down the street from him yesterday.
I don't know it you've seen any of the satellite pictures southern CA right now that have appeared on the news. Pretty amazing (and horrifying).
