Wave action...

The Aquarium has a new exhibit on wave action - this double tank demonstrates the difference between wind waves and tsunami waves. Gareth is observing what both kinds of waves look like while at sea (wind waves may be higher, but have a very short wave-length - tsunami waves may be only 2-3 tall, but have a wavelength of hundreds of miles).

(and yes, we did go two days in a row...)

We just got back from Disneyland area a couple weeks ago, and we went to that aquarium while we were down there. LOVED IT! I think the kids had more fun there than disneyland. LOL

An interesting coincidence is that when this exhibit opened, suddenly I noticed tsunami warning signs being placed along the roads near the beach. I don't know if that was intential or not.
