For anyone on my friends list of an academic bent - do any of you use or have used Cambridge Abstracts? If you have, how does it compare with Google Scholar? We've had access to Cambridge Abstracts for several years, but every so often the upper echelon questions how expensive it is, and how many people are actually using it. And of course, I haven't used it recently, but I do like to check up for new articles every once in a while. I'm somewhat dubious that a free service would cover all of the same material but one of our managers seems to think it's pretty robust.

I've had access to other databases and ILL on articles through my school so I haven't tried google scholar. Maybe I'll check it out and see.

I can't remember the last time I used Cambridge Abstracts, but I use Google Scholar all the time. Then again, I also use my library's online journal databse, but that's usually to get full-text copies after I find them in Google Scholar.
