What is the fascination I have with picture frames? I must have at least a dozen sitting around the house, still in their original packaging, scenes and people I'm not familiar with still grinning out of them. Its certainly not that I don't have anything to put in them, but the urge to purchase the perfect setting for a picture as yet uncaptured is sometimes uncontrollable. I may even own more square footage of frame than actual wallspace. I avoid flea markets and antique sales for this very reason, but then a friend or co-worker will suggest, hey let's look around Pier One, and then a few more four-cornered wooden objects will magically leap off the shelves and affix themselves to my person with tiny dovetail-joint teeth. When I get them home, my husband will noisily sigh and enquire what do we need more of those for? I give a guilty shrug and add them to their growing population in the closet where I keep the craft supplies, imagining I hear a creaky noise of welcome from their fellows; a growing frame family get-together.

I so relate to this! There's nothing quite like finding the perfect frame to go with a picture. :)

I do have a big empty frame with spaces for five 5x7 pictures that I haven't chosen occupants for yet, just across the hallway from my computer here. Probably the inspriration for this [livejournal.com profile] dailyparagraph

Actually, I have more of a problem with boxes. I find them fascinating (as to what could be put in them, I suppose), and I have a hard time getting rid of them. ;)
