senoritafishI'm a little excited - I happened to get a screencap of DA user fishtankbabe's 1000th page view on Friday, and she is drawing me some fanart! I picked a character who doesn't get a whole lot of fanart, so I can't wait to see what it looks like!
She did this incredible sketch of Sesshomaru and Rin (Inu Yasha); which I guess I like because you never see that expression on Sesshomaru's face (quite out of character for him), and it reminds me of how I used to snuggle with my kids when they were little and sick. It's supposed to eventually be a painting.

Well, I tried a fanart doodle (which looks like crap compared to the above) after a conversation with Angus, in which he's combining his fandoms by assigning all the characters in Ed, Edd & Eddy alternate personalities as Egyptian gods. And who else could Edd, the science nerd, be but Thoth, the god of wisdom and learning, the patron of scribes? Angus was rather upset that I didn't actually draw him with an ibis's head, electing instead to give him a sort of an ibis headdress with the end of his trademark hat hanging down behind, but (I tried to explain to him) how would we recognize him as Double D if he had a bird's head? *muses* I'll have to think about that...it might be possible. Anyhow, Angus carried my sketchbook off and gave it his seal of approval, I guess that's what the Eye of Horus is, at the bottom left, and also drew him a belly button with black marker - he didn't notice Edd is wearing a shirt (I edited it out). This is a preliminary, very rough sketch, that I'm not completely happy with. Mostly just to get something on paper so I don't completely forget about it...
But I love crossovers.
